Registration for the lottery that will determine who gets a grant — ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 — will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 8, officials said.

Residents can call 311 OR  apply online

The lottery will take place Oct. 28, and is limited to the repair or replacement of roofs or porches attached to one- to four-unit apartment buildings owned by individuals and families earning no more than 80 percent of the area median income in Chicago, officials said.
