  • $3 million ISBE appropriation in FYO9 to support the expansion of community schools in Illinois. 

Kids Need to Come First

  • $100,000 appropriation in FY09 budget to support Children and Youth Commissions created by HB4456.

Kids Need Caring Communities

  • SB1993 will reduce negative impact on families and their communities from payday loans.

  • Chicago Elev8 Key Leaders Travel to Washington DC

    In December 2009, the Federation for Community Schools along with Public/Private Ventures, and key leaders from 5 Chicago Elev8 community development corporations traveled to Washington, DC advocating for the Full Service Community Schools Act and other specific pieces of legislation directly impacting Elev8.
