GAGDC Annual Gala Report

After experiencing the Annual Gala that is hosted to invite different leaders from churches to nonprofit organizations and politicians, I was very shocked at how well this event went. I have never been to an event like this before, so for this to be my first experience this turned out to be very eye-opening. Learning about the different leaders who all put in the work with Mr. Nelson is very impressive.

I felt happy to be a part of a movement that wants to see everyone have a fair chance in these low-income areas around the Chicagoland area. It shows the solidarity that leaders have to be able to come together and use their resources to build some hope for these poverty-ridden areas. Their relentless and resiliency that we have been working hard on for the past year. As a man who has been on the front line in this effort it felt like everyone who was in attendance at the Gala wanted to grow their community in many ways such as health, education, housing services, food security, and overall a healthier lifestyle for these neighborhoods, it’s a beautiful sight to see.

The commitment it takes is unbeatable and every single last person who works for GAGDC has put this effort in overtime for the out community. To know that we have the support from everyone who has the same vision as GAGDC puts us in a position to inspire the youth to do the same like a domino effect and to build these new healthy relationships for the community is an experience like none other.
