"Build on 79th Street" A Jazz and Champagne-Infused Fundraising Reception A Huge Success!

The Board of Directors of the Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) hosted a reception to kick-off an 18-month capital campaign called, "BUILD ON 79th STREET"

A Jazz and Champagne-Infused Reception
839 West 79th Street
(west parking lot, in a heated tent)

Everyone enjoyed an evening of networking and raised our glasses, as a community, while we learned about the new capital campaign for this historic project that is now underway in Auburn Gresham. The site is called the Auburn Gresham HealthyLifestyle Building.

To generate the needed capital for this building project, (approximately three million dollars), the reception provided an opportunity for attendees to purchase a commemorative engraved plate that will be permanently affixed at the site of this exciting project. Samples of the styles of engraved plates were on display around the event venue, featuring names of GADC's key event sponsors and initial key project stakeholders.

The goal of this catalytic redevelopment project is to create an award-winning building right here on 79th Street, along a major southwest business corridor. A primary focus to assist in the revitization of the southwest corridor business district and bring a minimum of 100 living wage jobs to the neighborhood!

The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) is working to build the "strength" of the commercial corridors and improve the quality of life in Auburn Gresham. We were really excited to share this 839 W. 79th Street, Auburn Gresham Healthy Lifestyle Buidling project with the community, donors, and investors. We were extremely pleased that  supporters from across the city of Chicago could be a part of this night of history in the making!

"The "Build on 79th Street" reception and formal announcement of the 839 redevelopment project was spectacular!  This event was everything I envisioned and much, much more.  The details from the tent logistics to the decorations, it was all done with class and befitting of a major announcement, for our community," says Carlos Nelson, executive director of the Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation.
This event kicked off a capital campaign that starts 18 months of focused fundraising and capital investing, for the "839" AG Healthy Lifestyle Building project. Reaching its goal will transform the community!
