Urban Gateways Helps to Muralize Auburn Gresham

As part of its 2008 Art Options initiative, Urban Gateways partnered with The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) and worked with Perspectives Charter School-Calumet Campus students from ages 14 to18 year-old to better equip them with in-depth art-making (theatre, visual art, film/video, and poetry) in concert with Illinois standards in the arts.

The program's curriculum involved students in the construction of a community-based arts project that educates around an issue, asks a question, provokes and inspires deep critical thinking, and elicits some kind of change in their community.
