Lights On Afterschool Elevates Local Youth To Shine

Lights on Afterschool is a nationwide event that showcases the amazing programs that go on during out of school time.  This years Perspecties Middle Academy ELEV8 Lights on Afterschool event, was a great success!

"Our scholars and parents participated in a extended day open house and scholars took the lead!" said the proud on-site ELEV8 Manager, Amissah Seals, of the Greater Auburn-Gresham Developement Corporation.

Parents were able to visit each ELVE8 extended day class an experience an actual lesson lead by their scholars. The scholars took great pride in showing their parents what they have learned  and in teaching the parents something new!

The scholars are actively participating in a calm classroom exercise, which is not just afterschool, but a practice of a discipline school life, held in classrooms through the day!

Parents were particularly impressed with the skills exhibited in our Culinary Arts class led by Eat to Live. There were lots of oohs and ahhhs as a scholar skillfully tossed an omelet in the pan.We see plenty of Father's Day and Mother's Day brunches prepared by scholars in the near future.
