New Employees Stamp of Approval on Email Training

The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) turned to Easter
Seals to help solve a local organization problem, of not having a funded face-to-face office assistant and greeter to cover it's very busy front desk. The GADC main office is located on 1159 West 79th Street.

The office manager, Linda Johnson, as part of the community work she does with the local seniors in the GADC service area, became of aware of a very intriguing program. The Easter Seals program is designed to employ and put seniors back into the workforce. The program allows seniors to work up to 20 hours per week, and the effort is funded in total by Easter Seals. GADC proudly accepted three seniors to join us in the workplace. To our new employees, Ms. Harris, Ms. Dixon and Ms. Roberts, welcome again to GADC!

As part of the GADC new hire tool training, the seniors are learning and perfecting new tech skills. They spent the morning learning about the organization, by navigating the www.gagdc.org web site. They also got their new email accounts all set up and learned about the integrated Google tools. Sheenita Robinson, the GADC's education team Illinois State University Cultural and Enrichment Coordinator, used her manys skills  to acclomate student teachers and their families into our community, as she helped the senior employees get Google with it! These new techology skills are tools they can use to stay relevant and marketable for years to come.
