Revolution Of Young Artists As Leaders (R.O.Y.A.L.)

In partnership with Simeon High school, Cook Elementary school, Greater Auburn Development Corporation, The Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline and Illinois State University; we invite you to participate in our Revolution of Young Artists as Leaders poetry workshop.

  • The workshops are free to all Cook Elementary students.
  • Our workshops are designed to foster an intergenerational relationship between Simeons’ Writers Never Die championship team and Cook Elementary School students, providing a space for creative expression and youth empowerment.
  • Students will take part in 6 poetry workshops and 1 final presentation performance.
  • The workshops will be held after school at Cook Elementary from 3:45pm-5:00pm on October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3rd and 10th.
  • Students will present their final performance to Illinois State University Education Students on November 12, 2015 from 1pm-4pm
  • Students at Illinois State University are working hard on campus to raise money that they will award to both schools; in support of future arts and enrichment programing.
