Auburn Gresham Metra station will complement 79th Street corridor revitalization

Commissioner Maurice Cox helped break ground this month on the long-awaited Metra station at 79th Street and Lowe Avenue in Auburn Gresham, which DPD supported with Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and land to facilitate commuter access.

Planned for completion in 2024, the $30 million transit hub is a key part of DPD's INVEST South/West initiative along 79th and nearby blocks, which are undergoing more than $100 million in public and private improvements.
