The Revolution of Young Artists As Leaders Continues To Be ROYAL

“Simeon’s poetry team, called Writers Never Die and 2014/15 Louder Than a Bomb Champions collaborated with John W. Cook Elementary School and created The Revolution of Young Artist as Leaders (ROYAL) poetry team [two years ago],” according to gagdc.org. ROYAL held a Spoken Word Slam at Simeon Career Academy on April 25, 2017, where ROYAL continued to display what happens when youth engage in activities that allow them to use their voices instead of negativity.

Cook 8th-Grader Aces CPS Selective-Enrollment Test, Earns Maximum Score

Thirteen-year-old Daysha Straight was the only student at Cook Elementary to get the maximum score on the Chicago Public Schools selective-enrollment test this year which determines where she’ll attend high school in the fall.

Four Partner Organizations, Two-Generations Host Serve-A-Thon To Honor Dr. King's Legacy

Four Partner Organizations, Chicago Cares, Uptake, Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation and Cook Elementary School (Chicago Public Schools) Host Serve-A-Thon to Honor Dr. King's legacy, have lunch and chats on civil rights with local students, resident seniors and local veterans who live in Auburn Gresham.
