Auburn Gresham boosted by annual festival

he Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side is known for a lot of things and one of them is the annual 79th Street Renaissance Festival. Now in its 14th year, the free, outdoor festival will run Sept. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of 79th Street and Racine Avenue to Loomis Avenue.

Going for Gold

The "Your Voice Matters" Housing Task Force meeting on February 4th to discuss strategies for the 2016 Quality-of-Life Plan in Auburn Gresham. The main organization leading the large charge for the plan development is NHS Auburn Gresham, along with the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) playing an instrumental role in co-writing, co-facilitating, and increasing community awareness.

Mission

To foster and promote revitalization of the community by designing and implementing programs that improve the community’s economic viability; increase availability of quality housing to people of different income levels, while maintaining and improving existing affordable housing; and enhance delivery of social services, particularly to senior citizens.
