Digital Platform Excels in Auburn Gresham

Online job training, after-school activities for kids and free netbook computer giveaways for families who complete computer training are getting a huge boost across Chicago, thanks to two federal stimulus grants totaling $16.05 million.

The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) launched its Smart Communities Initiative with a digital and red carpet theme. With nearly 400 attendees, people of all economic and social make-up learned about Auburn Gresham’s digital platform and the resources made available to further develop them in Auburn Gresham.

Sprint Nextel Supplies Auburn Gresham Youth with Mobile Broadband Cards

Helping the City of Chicago extend technology access through its Digital Excellence Initiative, Sprint Nextel supplied free Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go units with online service at no charge for six months to 60 Chicago high-schoolers who participated in this year’s inaugural Digital Youth Summer Jobs program. This campaign was launched in Auburn Gresham.
