The Courage To Love? A Community Discussion

History of Auburn Gresham

The recent history of Auburn Gresham is somewhat similar to that of the areas that surround it: once predominantly Irish Catholic, the racial makeup of the neighborhood quickly changed in the the 1960s and 1970s when African Americans began moving into the area from surrounding communities.

Auburn Gresham Opens Door To Free Tax Site 2014

The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) and the St. Sabina Employment Resource Center (ERC), continues the strong partnership with the Center for Econmic Development (CEP) and will open the door to the Free Tax Site, January 22, 2014. The free tax services start at the GADC intake area, 7903 S. Racine and will be offered Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m and Saturday's at 10:00 a.m.

Obamacare: Rush is on as health insurance deadline looms

City Warming Centers Open for Residents

Bitter cold temperatures are more than an inconvenience; they pose a serious threat to health and safety. The City of Chicago has many services available to help residents weather the winter months. Landlords must heat residential buildings to at least 68 degrees during the day and 66 degrees overnight. If you are unable to resolve a heating problem with your landlord, call 3-1-1.
